After two winters in Trade Winds with our 5th wheel we were able to purchase a park model in the Trade Winds section of the resort.We could not be happier to call Texas our winter home. Folks made us so welcome, we have been fortunate to have one of the most dedicated activities director in the valley.The staff are so accommodating,management have bent over backwards to make sure that this is a choice location to spend the winters (or full time for some folks). We have become involved in park activities and feel fortunate to have made so many friends. We always look forward to returning here from Canada each fall. The cost of living in the Rio Grande valley certainly enhances the reason to call this area our second home. Those you who have not been for a visit in the past few years will be very very pleased at the updated surroundings in both Mission Bell and Trade Winds. Last year (January to April 2011) was our first trip to Mission Bell/Trade Winds Resort. When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon the site that we had reserved was not exactly what we wanted. Without hesitation we parked our unit and were taken around both campgrounds in a golf cart to check out other available sites. We picked one out in the Trade Winds section and could not been happier. The reception we got from all our new neighbours, especially Bill and Greta, was fantastic. We had some family illness while we were there and they all jumped in and supported us. They prayed for us, took care of our unit while we had to make a rush trip back up to Canada. We will be heading back down again this January for sure. Great people in the Resort, extremely well managed, and the staff could not be more accomadating. Looking forward to our return. Oh yeah the warm weather and the heated pool are a plus, along with all the activities.
