Great Oct. & Nov. Activities
One of the best things about Mission Bell-Trade Winds is: YOU GET TO STAY WHERE YOU PLAY! Activities Director Audrey Fedders (and husband Mike) have already put on four big events this season.
First was our Halloween Bash. Below are fun photos from that event. Our residents passed out candy to over 200 local kids who wore just about every costume imaginable. We had some very "big kids" from our Resort dress up too! After the trick or treating was over, our Residents were treated to a light meal and lots more fun.
Next was our annual Veterans' Day Celebration. We do it every year. We cannot say it often enough: THANK YOU VETERANS. YOU ARE APPRECIATED AND RESPECTED.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Why cook and eat alone or with just a few friends when dinner is provided for you for free at our Resort? This year, you would have been treated to a huge homemade Thanksgiving dinner by our activities staff and many volunteers if you were staying with us. This was our biggest ever Thanksgiving event, serving almost 350 people. Last year we served about 250. Our reservations are up 20% over last year so our attendance at our annual Thanksgiving feast is right in line with our reservations. Our family keeps growing. We attribute that to all of our great residents, an outstanding staff and our army of volunteers. Audrey, her crew and a host of volunteers for which we are eternally grateful cooked this huge meal and cleaned up all the mess. We also want to thank those who made and donated pies. It was a great social event.
Makin' Great Music Together
After the Thanksgiving meal was over, many of our residents were
treated to some great music by other residents in the Resort. We have a
lot of talent out there: Jesse Lamb, Harry Sippel and Morris Woodruff gave a wonderful impromptu concert. Audry, Mike, Pat and others are taking a "load off" while enjoying all the fun.
We are thankful this year for so many things:
As a nation, we are truly blessed.
As a group, we stand strong.
As individuals, we are free.
